John Fakinakis provides consulting services to global businesses on the future of oil and oil policy, regional economy, privatization, fiscal management, macro fiscal planning, and debt management. Sfarkinakis is currently the Director of the Economic Research Department at the Riyadh Gulf Research Center. Previously, he served as the Middle East Director of the Riyadh Anshi Group, Chief Investment Strategist for the family investment company MASIC, Chief Economic Advisor for the Saudi Ministry of Finance, and General Manager and Chief Economist for Central and North East Africa at Credit Agricole, a French bank, Chief Regional Economist at Saudi British Bank and Chief Regional Economist at Samba Financial Group. He also served as an advisor to the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Economy and Planning, an economist at the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank. He holds a doctoral degree in economics from Harvard University. He often publishes articles in the Financial Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg News.
