Seguin Royal, a French politician and member of the French Socialist Party, was the defeated Socialist candidate in the 2007 French presidential election and the former girlfriend of former French President Francois Hollande. Since the 1970s, he has been in politics. In the 1990s, he has served as the Minister of Environment and a ministerial representative responsible for education and family affairs in the Socialist government. Currently, he is the President of the Poitiers Charente Regional Council. Royal was born in 1953 in Senegal, where his father served. His father was an artillery colonel. She graduated from the French School of Politics and the National School of Administration, known as the cradle of the president. Royal first served as an advisor in an administrative court, and then worked for the Socialist Party with his partner Hollande. In her twenties, she served as an advisor to Mitterrand and helped him win the presidency of France. The intelligent and capable Royale is highly valued by Mitterrand, who personally recommended her as the second leader of the Double Sever Province. Afterwards, Royall's career was smooth and straightforward, never failing in any election. He served as the Minister of Environment and a ministerial representative responsible for education and family affairs in the Socialist government. In the 2005 regional elections, Royal defeated the successor appointed by former Prime Minister Raffarin and became the chairman of the parliament of the Poitou Charente region with an overwhelming victory. She was also the only female speaker among the 22 regional presidents of France at that time. In April 2002, Le Pen, who ran for the presidency, was ultimately defeated by protests from the general public against fascism. Afterwards, while discussing the disastrous defeat of the Socialist Party and Jospin with reporters, he suddenly said seriously, 'Look, in five years, the candidate representing the Socialist Party in the presidential election will be Seguin Royal.'. Le Pen did not know Royale himself, he only saw her remarks and the way she handled the problem through the media, and he deeply believed in her ability. Today, four years later, Royale has indeed confirmed Le Pen's original prophecy. In November 2006, he was elected as the 2007 Socialist Party candidate with a high number of votes, and the latest public opinion survey showed a public support rate of 61%. In order to better promote, Royal also launched a blog, becoming the first French presidential candidate to open a blog. On May 6, 2007, Royal delivered a speech admitting defeat in the election.
