Fran \u00e7 ois Fillon was born on March 4, 1954 in the western city of Le Mans, France. He is a member of the ruling People's Movement Alliance and holds a doctoral degree in public law and political science. In 1981, he was first elected as a member of the National Assembly and was the youngest member of parliament at the time. He has since been re elected multiple times.
