Idrisyala is renowned worldwide for rescuing failing businesses and solving corporate dilemmas. He firmly believes that all organizations have the ability to overcome difficulties. During his tenure as CEO of PEMANDU, a performance management and execution unit, he was responsible for leading the Malaysian government towards a transition to high income levels by 2020. Bloomberg rated Yarra as one of the top ten most influential decision-makers in the world. Under his leadership, the Performance Management and Execution Unit was named one of the top 20 most innovative government agencies in the world by NESTA in the UK. Prior to serving in the government department, Yarra served as the CEO of Malaysia Airlines for three years. He was appointed during a crisis to reverse the long-term losses caused by the company's inefficient operations. Prior to this, he worked at Shell for 23 years, covering various locations in the UK, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, and served as the Vice President of Shell International Retail. In addition, Yarra is also a member of the Global Agenda Council for the New Economic Growth Model at the World Economic Forum and a member of the World Bank Competitiveness Industry Expert Advisory Group. In 2017, he was appointed as the Chairman of Heineken Malaysia.
