Jared Cohen is director of Google Ideas and adjunct senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, With Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman and former CEO of Google, he co-authored The New York Times bestselling book, The New Digital Age: Reshaping the Future of People, Nations, and Businesses. As part of his research, he interviewed members of Al-Qaeda, Lebanon's Hezbollah and the Taliban. He is the author of two books: Children of Jihad and One Hundred Days of Silence, And co-authored with Eric Schmidt The Digital Disruption: Connectivity and the Proliferation of Power Connectivity and the Diffusion of Power, which appeared in the journal Foreign Affairs only a few months before the Arab Spring began. Published in 2013, The New Digital Age presents a vision of an increasingly connected world and answers the question of how everything in the physical world will change over the next decade as five billion new users enter the digital world.
