He is the chairman and founder of the Center for Economic and Business Research, a leading business economics think tank and top economic forecasting organization in the UK, with expertise in important industrial sectors such as road and rail transportation, retail, automobiles, trucks, real estate, construction, plastics, and information technology. Currently, McWilliams provides advice on economic and business trends and their impact on corporate strategies for 25 FTSE companies. His clients also include most well-known British retailers, four top UK law firms, and some leading accounting firms such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. In our country, McWilliams is recognized as an expert in studying the prospects of the London economy and the City of London, as well as an economic advisor to the Northwest Regional Development Authority and the British Isle of Man Treasury. He is known for his excellent communication skills and is one of the most cited economists.
