In February 2015, Zanny Minton Beddoes was appointed as the editor in chief of The Economist. She used to be the business editor of the magazine, responsible for editing the finance, economy, and technology sections. From 2007 to 2014, Minton Beddoes served as an economics editor in Washington, D.C., where he guided the magazine's global economic reporting. She has written special reports on the world economy, Germany, Latin American finance, global finance, and Central Asia. Minton Beddoes joined The Economist in 1994 after serving as an economist at the International Monetary Fund for two years. Previously, she served as an advisor to the Polish Minister of Finance and a member of a research group led by Professor Jeffrey Sachs of Harvard University. Minton Beddoes is a frequently invited commentator for television and radio programs on both sides of the Atlantic, including Bill Maher Show American Home Theater, HBO, Fareed Zakaria Navigation Fareed Zakaria GPS, CNN, News Night, BBC, Newsweek, PBS, NBC Finance Channel, and Public Interest National Public Radio, NPR, etc.
