James pays close attention to the key trends and strategic challenges of current and future business and describes himself as a historian of the future. He is a frequent guest speaker and presenter at high-end conferences around the world. He has published books and special reports on the future of the world. James is the first British staff member of the Hudson Institute, a Us-Based futurology think tank, to hold a senior position in its Paris-based European division. He also has more than 25 years of experience as an award-winning television presenter, having hosted BBC TV's Money Programme for three years before presenting Newsnight and Panorama. He then edited and themed financial business programmes for seven years at Financial Times Television and Sky News. James holds a Master's degree in law and history from Cambridge and a doctorate from the London School of Economics. In 2007 he was elected a fellow of the World Innovation Foundation, founded by Nobel Laureate economist Glenn Theodore Seaborg. He is a Fellow of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and a director of the Talent Fund.
