Nathaniel Rothschild is the eighth generation member of the Rothschild family and the only son of Jacob Rothschild, the head of the London branch of the Rothschild family. He has extensive experience in investment banking and hedge fund management. As a descendant of a century old European banking family, Nathaniel Rothschild, 44 years old, has achieved his own success in commodity investment. In 2011, he collaborated with former BP CEO Tony Hayward to raise $2 billion through Vallares' initial public offering to acquire oil assets. In the same year, Vallares and Guinness Energy, a giant energy company in T\u00fcrkiye, reached a full equity merger agreement. In addition to Iraqi oil, Nathaniel has also invested in many other assets, such as investing heavily in Indonesian coal through Indonesia's largest mining company, Bumi Energy, and jointly venturing into Russian aluminum by investing in billionaire Oleg Deripaska's Russian aluminum industry, becoming its underlying investor when the company went public. Other shrewd investments by Nathaniel include holdings in global commodity trading giant Glencore. Nathaniel, who had studied at Eton College and Oxford University, received a good education and had a reputation for loving life. He settled down in Crostes, a ski resort located in Switzerland.
