Gulcharandas is a CEO, writer, journalist, and public intellectual. Das is the author of the international bestselling book Freedom of India, which has been translated into 17 languages and published in films by the British Broadcasting Corporation. He writes regular columns for the Times of India every Sunday and periodic feature columns for the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Foreign Affairs, Times, and Newsweek magazines. In 2012, he also published the book \Rise of India in the Dark: The Story of Freedom for a Great Power\. From 1985 to 1992, he was the CEO of Procter&Gamble India and the Vice President of Procter&Gamble Asia. He later served as the Managing Director of Global Procter&Gamble in Strategic Planning. Prior to joining Procter&Gamble, he served as the Chairman and Managing Director of Richardson Hindustan Limited from 1981 to 1985 and was an intern at the company. In 1995, after spending 30 years of career in six countries, Darth retired early to become a full-time writer. Currently, he provides consulting on global corporate strategy for many companies and collaborates with a private equity fund. He has served as a judge at the McKinsey Award for Best Article in Harvard Review and the Milton Friedman Award with a prize of $500000.
