Kostamakis is a professor of strategy and entrepreneurship and serves as Professor Robert P. Bowman in the Strategic Leadership program at London Business School. He was born in Cyprus and holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Economics with Honours from Boston University, as well as a Master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1985 and a PhD in Business Administration in 1990. He currently works on the editorial board of some academic journals and the board of directors of the Strategic Management Association. He served as a researcher at the World Economic Forum in Davos from 1999 to 2003 and from 2012 to 2013, respectively. Professor Kostamakis has repeatedly ranked among the world's top 50 business thinkers on the Thinkers50 list, and is recognized as one of the most important strategic and innovation experts in the world. As an internationally renowned teacher and conference spokesperson, Professor Markas has conducted research on topics such as strategic innovation, business model innovation, diversification, and international mergers and acquisitions. He mainly explores how mature enterprises implement thorough or disruptive innovation and how they compete with two business models in the same industry. He also explores how companies can create a culture of continuous innovation and the role that individual managers play in making the company more innovative. In recent years, Professor Marches has increasingly focused on social issues and studied how to use management concepts to address social issues such as drug-related crime, poverty, and malnutrition. His upcoming book Reform Architects explores how individuals can design innovative solutions to social problems. He also studies how to use decentralized change processes to expand social innovation and promote it globally. He has published several books on strategy and innovation themes, including some of the best-selling books: All the Right Actions: Creating Breakthrough Strategy Guides; Strategy for changing game rules: How to explore new market space in mature industries by breaking rules. Currently, he is writing a new book from Concept to Impact: How to Increase and Spread Social Innovation.
