In 2012, Masters was still a student at Stanford Law School, and he became famous online for taking Peter Thiel's Computer Science 183: Entrepreneurship Course and taking detailed notes. Subsequently, Masters and Pettier compiled those classroom notes into New York Times bestsellers: notes from 0 to 1 about startups or how to build the future. The book from 0 to 1 is about explaining why and how some of the world's most valuable companies in the Silicon Valley region can solve problems in new ways instead of relying on old ways to compete. Previously, Masters co founded Judicata, a legal research technology startup, and worked for Box and the Founder's Fund. In 2014, he was named one of the top 30 outstanding figures under the age of 30 by Forbes.
