From January 2007 to September 2010, Matz served as the Chairman and CEO of Scandinavian Airlines Holding Company Nordic Airlines, one of the major airlines in the Nordic region. He successfully faced challenges and helped SAS transform from a complex enterprise group with multiple business units to a streamlined and efficient business operation model. At the same time, he also maintained good relationships with numerous alliances, continuously improving consumer confidence and satisfaction. He helped the company successfully achieve cultural transformation. He successfully constructed a new strong business plan, receiving full support from government and private shareholders in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, and resolving two major rights issues. It is no exaggeration to say that he twice saved SAS company from bankruptcy. His consistent, straightforward, and trustworthy leadership style has helped him win the respect and confidence of the government, shareholders, financial institutions, corporate consumers, and employees. During his tenure as the President and CEO of SAS, he was also a member of the Board of Directors of the International Air Transport Association and the European Airlines Association. Since 1973, he has held senior positions in multiple listed companies, including President and CEO of Catena\/Bilia from 1994 to 1999, and President and CEO of Finnish chocolate brand Fazer from 1999 to 2000. In 2000, he took over as the President and CEO of Axfood and became the chairman of the company since 2005. In 2005, he was appointed as the President and CEO of Axel Johnson AB. He has played a beneficial role in promoting the restructuring and transformation of major enterprises in the Nordic and European regions. At present, Mazjensen is a board member of Danske Bank and Sonera Telecom, chairman of the board of directors of Delhez Group, and senior advisor to JPMorgan Chase.
