Sir David Reed is the Chairman of Intertek Group PLC, a global quality and safety services company listed on the London Stock Exchange and a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index, with over 35000 employees in 100 countries. Tianxiang Group provides high-quality solutions for the global industry, helping many world-renowned brands and companies develop high-quality, safe, high-performance, environmentally friendly, and socially influential products, processes, and assets. David was appointed as a member of the board of directors of Intertek Group in December 2011 and became chairman in January 2012. From April 2004, Sir David served as a non-executive director of Tesco PLC at Tesco until November 2011. Previously, he served as an executive director on the Tesco board of directors since 1985. In February 2012, he was appointed as a member of the Global Senior Advisory Committee for Jefferies International, a global securities and investment banking group. In 2008, he was appointed as the chairman of the Whizz Kidz charity, providing mobile devices for children with disabilities. He is also a sponsor of Restless Development, an international youth development agency. He used to be the chairman of the automotive repair company Kwik Fit, a senior non-executive director of Reed Elsevier Group PLC, and a non-executive director of De Vere Group, Legal General, and Westbury PLC. In November 2010, Sir David was appointed as one of Cameron's business ambassadors. David was born in Zambia and received education in Scotland. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and currently resides in Essex County. He is the chairman and golfer of Scottish Rugby Club in London.
