Pramas is currently the Managing Director of 99 Mediaworx Pvt LTD. Founded in 2007, The company has multiple traditional and new media businesses in print, online, research, conferences and events, providing market positioning and special interest media services to more than a dozen well-known brands including Digit, The CTO Forum, CFO India, Inc India, IT Next and EDU. Has quickly taken a leading position in its field of business. Mr. Plamas spent 13 years at McKinsey and Company, an international management consulting firm, where he was a partner. During his tenure, he assisted public and private sector clients on a variety of industry issues related to business strategy and performance improvement in North America and Asia. He was initially responsible for business implementation in North America before moving to India in 1997 where he helped establish and grow the Indian business practice. He led McKinsey's telecom, IT, media, and organizational practice in India with a primary focus on transformation and leadership. He is currently a Senior consultant at McKinsey & Company and the Albright Stonebridge Group, The latter is a strategic consulting firm led by former White House National Security Adviser Samuel Berger and former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Prior to founding 99 Media, he was the Managing Director and CEO of ABP Group, one of the most diversified leading media conglomerates in India with multiple quality assets in newspapers, magazines and television. These include Ananda Bazar Patrika, the #1 Bengali daily, The Telegraph, Eastern Indias #1 English daily, Businessworld, and the #1 national business weekly magazine, India's most popular News channel STAR News in partnership with Star TV and India's top book publisher Penguin Books in partnership with Pearson International. Mr Pramas took a year off from McKinsey to set up ISB. ISB is an initiative launched by McKinsey & Company in partnership with a group of top Indian business leaders, Kellogg School of Business, and Wharton School of Business to build world-class business schools in India. ISB is one of the leading business schools in India today, ranked 13th in the latest Financial Times Global MBA Programme. Since the program's inception, Plamas has been actively involved as a member of the school board. He teaches leadership courses in ISB's PGPMax program, is a frequent speaker on the topic, and has promoted several top management seminars. He is currently leading a group of philanthropists to establish a world-class University in India, Ashoka University, and has just launched the Young India Fellowship and the Rhodes Scholarship. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Welham Girls School, Dehradun and a member of the Board of Directors of IIIT Delhi. Pramas holds a master's and doctoral degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He has published more than a dozen important papers in relevant journals and conferences.
