Catherine Steviel is the most adventurous female climber and climber in Europe. She completed the most difficult and dangerous solo climbing task without the use of any safety ropes or other auxiliary equipment, which was a legendary experience. From 1985 to 1988, she was hailed as the world's best female climber. In 1990, she participated in a series of mountaineering activities, including conquering three Alps alone, making her the most outstanding female climber of all time. In 1985, Steviel began her professional climbing career. She not only appeared in rock climbing movies, but also won multiple international climbing competitions, including the 1985 Sportroccia renamed Annual Master Climbing Competition, the 1986 Arco Climbing, and the 1986 Badonichia Climbing Championships. In 1988, Steviel completed a brand new 13 centimeter climbing journey in Buoux, the village of Beaufort, France. This rocky path became a symbol of the climbing revolution due to its steep slope. This was the most difficult climbing route in the world completed by women at that time. In 1989, she participated in the second Snowbird Cup Snowbird Cup competition and after retiring, she began to focus on mountaineering. In 1990, she climbed the unnamed peak in Pakistan freely and independently conquered Bonati Pillar on Les Drus, Mount Dreu. In 1991, during an 11 day solo climbing trip, she pioneered a new route to climb Mount Drew from the west. In 1992, she spent 17 hours alone climbing the northern side of Mount Egel in the Bern Heights, which is known as the most mysterious and dangerous cliff in the Alps. In the same year, she attempted to climb Latok Peak in Pakistan. In 1993, she completed a winter solo climb to the north wall of the Great Joras Peak and attempted to climb the western peak of the Makaru Peak in Nepal. In 1994, she completed a winter solo climb to the north wall of Mount Mathong, and in 1995, she climbed the southwest wall of Mount Xixiabang in Tibet and attempted the south wall of Mount Annapurna. In 1999, Stilwell spent two days climbing the north wall of Cima Grande di Lavardedo Peak, becoming once again the first woman to complete this climb alone. In the 1990s, she began reducing the number of solo climbs and developing her career as a lecturer and writer. Steviel is an excellent speaker who helps audiences refocus on their goals and achieve success by sharing her vision and achievements with them. She fully utilizes visual materials such as slides, videos, and movies to unleash her greatest potential as a speaker. Steviel is the protagonist of several documentaries, including the Beyond the Summits film by French director Remi Tezier, which won the Best Feature Film Award at the 2009 Banff Mountain Film Festival.
