Wolfgang Walstein is the director and CEO of the German Artificial Intelligence Research Center (DFKI) and a professor of computer science at the University of Salzburg& Nbsp; He has published over 200 technical papers and 12 monographs, covering areas such as user modeling, spoken dialogue systems, mobile and multimodal user interfaces, semantic web, and the Internet of Things and services& Nbsp; In 2001, the President of Germany awarded Walter the highest personal science award, the German Future Prize, in recognition of his contributions to intelligent user interfaces& Nbsp; He is a foreign member of the Nobel Prize Evaluation Committee of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Stockholm) and an official member of the German National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina), which was established in 1652& Nbsp; He is the executive director of the International Institute of Computer Science and EIT Digital at the University of California, Berkeley; Springer LNAI series editors and editorial board members of numerous top international CS journals.
